The Love Your Block initiative is a high-impact service strategy in which the Office of Mayor Tom Butt and city staff will engage community members in revitalizing their neighborhoods one block at a time.

Cities of Service has chosen Richmond as one of seven national cities to plan and implement Love Your Block. Cities of Service has previously awarded Richmond $100,000 in grant funds to implement successful service initiatives that harness the power of volunteers to help improve Richmond students' writing and literacy skills through programs like the WriterCoach Connection.

In January 2016, we will begin disbursing grant funds of up to $1,000 for winning projects that create a vibrant, more livable Richmond. Awarded funds may go towards tool lending libraries, murals, community gardens, and everything in between. Our application will go live in just a few short months so make sure to check back in soon to apply online.

We at Richmond City Hall would love your help in developing this project. Make sure to submit a survey to provide feedback and to get your name entered in our raffle. We can't wait to see how you Love Your Block!!
