Rancho Market Community Paint Days

After our paint party in October 2017, Rancho Market in
North Richmond is finally getting a mural! Join us for our Rancho Market Community Paint Days on April 21st from 9 am to 11 am as a service project for the 8th Annual North Richmond Earth Day Festival, and April 22nd from 9 am to 11 am!

Local muralist Richard Muro Salazar ("Alive and Free" mural) will sketch the design on two walls of the market, and all are invited to volunteer during the Community Paint Days to paint in the design - no artistic experience necessary!

The two-day volunteer mural installation is part of the Rancho Market Mural Project, with the aim of improving the safety and physical environment surrounding the popular neighborhood grocer. Five mural apprentices have been selected to assist two lead artists to facilitate community input on the mural design, brainstorming design ideas, and install the mural.

The Rancho Market Mural Project is supported by the Richmond Arts & Culture Commission Neighborhood Public Art Grant. This project is also made possible through the contributions of Office of County Supervisor John Gioia, CHDC, Richmond Love Your Block, Kelly-Moore Paints, City of Richmond DIMO, The Home Depot (El Cerrito), Sunbelt Rentals, Republic Services, Urban Tilth, Richmond Art Center, and Richmond Tool Library.
